Relating Thoughts to Personal Experience

As I meditated on this scripture, I began to understand that people have the power and the responsibility to control what they put into their hearts so that what comes out of their mouths will be good. That is the only way to control your mouth, because what goes into your heart (your “spiritual womb”) will come out of your mouth in words that are born like a baby being expelled from its mother’s womb. According to the passage about the temptation of Jesus (Matthew 4:1-11), the tempter (devil) can be allowed to come to you, lead you, and take you places. But you have a choice not to yield to his temptations. If you resist the devil, as the Bible says, he will flee from you as he did after tempting Jesus in the wilderness!
