A Mother’s Prayer

For the women who laid the foundation long before me
Thank you, Lord
For the woman who gave birth to me
Thank you, Lord
For the women who nurtured and cared for me
Thank you, Lord
For the women who love and pray for me
Thank you, Lord
For the woman I have become and still am becoming
Thank you, Lord
For the girls that I am raising to be godly women
Thank you, Lord
For the women that are yet to come
Thank you, Lord

I am the mother that I am because of the mothers that have prepared the way for me, carried me, cared for me, loved me, and nurtured me.

I am the mother that I am because of all the spiritual mothers who lift me up and pray for me continually.

I am the mother that I am because of the children You’ve blessed me to steward and nurture on their life journeys.

I am the mother that I am because of You!

May the grace and the love You have shown me through the women You’ve placed in my life be multiplied a thousand fold.

May Your blessings be rewarded to those who have come and gone before me, extended to those who are still present, and forwarded to the generations of women and mothers yet to come!

This is a mother’s prayer.

And it is in Your name I pray, Lord Jesus,
